Thank you very much Paul. I really get a kick from knowing that somebody is actually finding my site useful. I apologise for the confusion I created in the relative piece value article. It has now been rectified. I’ve also added rank and file indicators to assist.

It would be very much appreciated if you could please point out any mistakes you find as you come across them. I do double check my work, but there is no substitute for a second set of eyes.

Information based websites that do not directly sell product or service (such as this one) do not generate any near enough money to advertise or pay for directory listings. As such, each page must be laden with keywords that match google search terms. This unfortunately means that the page content cannot always represent the author’s artistic vision. I suspect that as an editor, you must cringe at my word placement and repetition of certain words (such as beginner and chess).

I am enjoying learning about chess on your site. I played the game as a small boy, a very long time ago, but never learned more than the moves of the pieces.
Now 66 I want something I can play with others and online.
There are a few mistakes on your pages. As a former book editor I would be happy to identify these for you.
One I have just noticed on Relative Piece Values is that in the middle of the first para, the sentence beginning “Using the diagram … ” should end “the rook from A5 to D5.”
I found this disconcerting, but saw the mistake quickly. I t would help other beginners if this were corrected.
Let me know if you would like me to carry out a thorough check of all the pages.
